Super Bowl 2012, or rather Super Bowl XLVI will kickoff at 6:25 East Coast Time this year on Sunday, February 5th, 2012. The “Big Game” is being played at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Indiana for the first time. This will only be the fourth time that the NFL has scheduled the game to take place in a cold-weather city. The NBC network will broadcast the matchup between the AFC and NFC champions and will also be shown on One HD and Network Ten in Australia and both BBC and Sky Sports in Europe and will be the 46th time that the game has been played.
2012 Super Bowl Venue
Lucas Oil Stadium opened in August of 2008 and replaced the RCA Dome as the Indianapolis Colts’ home field. The stadium seats close to
63,000 for regular season football games and will be expanded to seat more than 70,000 for Super Bowl XLVI. There are 12 super suites, 8 field suites, and 137 luxury boxes at the stadium.
